Mythos Books

Excellence in Science Fiction and Fantasy

Here is the lovely staff that runs Mythos Books. Without each and every person, we wouldn't be able to give you the excellent books in Science Fiction and Fantasy.

Publisher

Julia understands that not everyone can see the humor in The Silence of the Lambs. She sort of respects that.

Executive Editor

Born in the Caribbean Islands, Emily Horn arrived in America in 1772 to begin her formal schooling. Following a stint in the army, she later became the first US Treasury Secretary until she was killed in a duel in 1804 by her archrival, Aaron Burr. She has overcome this obstacle to work as the Executive Editor at Mythos Books.

Managing Editor

Channing Kaiser, our managing editor, is a former astronaut and rap phenomenon. When she isn’t searching the galaxy for aliens or dropping mad rhymes about the British monarchy, you can find her knitting finger puppets for underfunded schools. She enjoys the Andromeda Galaxy, birds, and baked potatoes. Channing currently lives with her husband and five children in Moldova.

Art Director

George Leonidou isn’t sure as to how to write a bio for himself. During a cold winter day, he got spurned an interview with the GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan because the rapper’s hair wasn’t proper. He enjoys wearing Champion crewnecks, his favorite Ninja Turtle is Donatello, and he regrets not growing up to be Macho Man Randy Savage. George is our Art Director.

Publicity Director

Gabriele is a huge dork and probably gushed about Mythos already to you. She is still patiently waiting for her Hogwarts letter, checking every closet for a portal to another world, and trying to time travel in random phone booths. She lives at home with her two dogs who she pretends are dragons. Gabriele is our publicity director.

Sales Director

Christina, our sales director, spends most of her day reading anything from advertisements on the side of a bus to academic tomes and all of their footnotes. She adores anything remotely magical and is still waiting for the night when she wakes up to find Edward Cullen peering at her through the window. She also sits in her mother's basement, wearing a fedora, being fedorable.

Marketing Director

Alyssa Persons is our Marketing Director. She hails from Portland, Oregon and has, indeed, put a bird on it. When she isn’t championing Cersei Lannister as the unofficial resident bad-ass of the Game of Thrones series, she’s convincing herself that chocolate milkshakes are an essential (and realistic) food group.

Ad and Promo Director

Courtney Wales is from SLC, Utah where she lives it up hiking, camping, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, and happily helping customers at the DMV. Her roommate is Mr. Bojangles (a brown tabby cat) and her cellphone is actually just a Reddit machine in disguise. When it’s cold outside, she sits by the fireplace with an Irish coffee, watching anything from Game of Thrones to Degrassi. Courtney is our Advertising and Promotions Director.

Finance and Subrights

Greta Shull is the finance and subsidiary rights director. When she isn't researching international market demand, she enjoys Skyping her cat and taking long walks in the urban jungle. She currently lives in New York and hopes to stay here and work in marketing or publicity. Not to mention, the city is nursing her addiction to Trader Joe's chocolate.

Social Director

Cynthia is our social media and digital marketing director. Never call her Cyndi unless she wants to die. She loves all things social: from looking up the latest Twitter fight or reading Harry Potter fan fiction on Tumblr you'll find her glued the internet 24/7. She's especially impatient for the new Star Wars movie to come out and is training to become a Jedi Master.

Web Designer

Kathleen is the lovely person who sacrificed her soul to the HTML and CSS gods to put together Mythos's webpage. Although she'd much prefer to be reading all day, coding does transfer her to the fantastical world of tags and floats. Kathleen loves dogs, cats, dolphins, wolves, a good cup of tea, and the fact that she gets all of Mythos's books for free!
