Mythos Authors

Margaret Peterson Haddix has written more than 25 books for kids and teens, including The Shadow Children series. Her books have been New York Times best-sellers and have been honored with the International Reading Association’s Children’s Book Award, the American Library Association Best Book, the Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers notations, and more than a dozen state reader’s choice awards. Haddix currently live in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and their two children. In September 2015, Haddix will be publishing her debut adult fiction work After Ever After with Mythos Books. Daina Chaviano, born in Havana, Cuba, is considered one of the three most important women in Spanish language SF&F. Chaviano’s writing has been described as “bold experiments that break down the boundaries between genres.” Most recently, Chaviano won the Malinalli National Award for the Promotion of Arts, Human Rights, and Cultural Diversity (Mexico, 2014), but her international acclaim dates back to 1979 when she won the David National Prize for a Science Fiction Book. Chaviano also has experience writing children’s literature and screenplays. Look out for Chaviano’s The Iaras Upstream, to be published with Mythos Books June 2016. Ken Liu, born in Lanzhou, China, is the author of numerous award winning short stories as well as a number of translations. His work has been published in F&SF, Asimov’s, Analog, Lightspeed, and Clarkesworld among other magazines and anthologies. Liu has won several of SF&F’s most coveted awards, including three Hugos and four Nebulas (Liu’s short story “The Paper Menagerie” along won the Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy Awards).
